Overview

Certain CCR models include an RS232 serial interface used for configuration and service-level communication. The RS232 interface is typically intended for factory setup, advanced diagnostics, firmware configuration, and service-level access. It is not intended for routine operational control.

The CCR allows for RS232 serial connection to be made at the DCMU. Each DCMU comes with a RS232 header that is used to connect directly to a PC using the DCMU Configurator software. This connection is used primarily in factory setup and calibration of the CCR.

Purpose of the RS232 Interface

The RS232 port allows direct communication with the CCR control system using a serial connection. This interface may be used to configure communication settings, perform service-level diagnostics, and access internal system parameters. Access level may vary depending on firmware and configuration

Connection Considerations

RS232 communication requires a proper serial cable, matching communication parameters, and compatible terminal software. Incorrect wiring or configuration will prevent communication.

Mode Requirements

When connected via RS232, the CCR may allow configuration access. Operational mode restrictions may still apply. RS232 access does not override electrical safety requirements.
