Ferroresonant Transformer Function


The ferroresonant transformer is the primary current-regulating element of the system. It works in combination with a capacitor bank to create a resonant circuit. This design provides stable current regulation, electrical isolation, inherent current limiting characteristics, and robust performance under varying load conditions. The ferroresonant transformer responds to load changes and adjusts output voltage automatically to help maintain the programmed current level. If the connected load increases, the transformer increases output voltage. If the load decreases, the transformer reduces output voltage. This automatic voltage adjustment maintains constant current.
