Overview

Certain models equipped with advanced monitoring support Ethernet-based communication. These communication methods allow integration with airport lighting control systems, supervisory control systems, and network monitoring platforms. Ethernet communication enables remote status monitoring and control over a network.

Supported Protocols

Depending on configuration, supported protocols may include Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP. These protocols allow external systems to read and write operational data.

Typical Functions Available Over Ethernet

When properly configured, Ethernet communication may allow remote ON/OFF control, brightness step selection, status monitoring, fault monitoring, warning monitoring, and runtime logging retrieval. Actual available functions depend on system configuration.

Hardware Requirements

Ethernet communication requires a CCR model with digital monitoring capability, Ethernet port installed, and proper network configuration. Ethernet connectivity requires a Communications Card to be installed in the Digital Control & Monitoring Unit (DCMU) upon ordering the CCR.

Network Configuration

Proper network configuration includes assigning IP address, setting subnet mask, configuring gateway (if required), and ensuring network connectivity. Improper configuration may prevent communication.

Operational Mode

For remote control over Ethernet, the CCR must be placed in Remote mode. External control system must send valid protocol commands. If the CCR is in Local mode, Ethernet commands will not control output.

Common Communication Issues

If Ethernet communication fails, verify physical network connection. Confirm correct IP configuration. Verify protocol compatibility. Confirm CCR is not in Local mode. Check for firewall or network restrictions.
